Grand Manan, Quoddy Region of Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia.
Distinguishing Features
• External appearance: Encrusting sponge forming small, rounded masses. Our specimens were beige and had a fluffy surface. Fragile texture, crumbles easily.
• Skeleton: Loose, irregular reticulation of oxea.
• Spicules: Oxea 275–373 µm, sigmata around 32 µm.

Habitat
Grows on bedrock, boulders and cobbles in soft sediment. Has been recorded in depths of 0–240 m.
Geographic Range
Type locality in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Also known from the Davis Strait, Nova Scotia, and the Bay of Fundy.
Fun Fact
Named after the type locality in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
