Southern Shore NS, ponar grab collection of mud, 8m depth.
Distinguishing Features
• Tube Feet: absent.
• Body: cylindrical and worm-like in shape, thin semi-transparent body wall and white to pinkish in colour.
• Oral Tentacles: usually 12.
• Dermal Calcareous Elements: 6-spoked wheels concentrated in a few large papillae, 0.08-0.1mm diameter.
• Size: to 15 cm.

Habitat
Hidden under rocks or in muddy and sandy substrate, 0-80 m depth.
Geographic Range
Circumpolar distribution of the Northern Hemisphere.
Fun Fact
When it is injured with a tear or bite, this sea cucumberit pinches off and removes the damaged body part within 30 seconds. It can then regenerate the lost body part.
