World Ocean Day

While World Ocean Day is Monday, June 8, the Huntsman celebrates again this year on Saturday, June 12, as a part of the celebrations for the first annual St. Andrews Seafood Festival.

The aquarium opens at 9 a.m., and there will be temporary tattoos for children, a barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., a chance to meet some of the Huntsman lobsters at 1 p.m., seal feedings at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the Huntsman will again be running the popular ‘Ocean Discovery’ boat trips at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. This is a chance to go out on the Huntsman’s research vessel, the Fundy Spray, and to see and touch some of the creatures that live on the ocean floor.

These boat trips were very popular last year, and space on each trip is strictly limited to 15 people. Tickets for the 1-hour trips cost $30 for adults and $15 for children from 4-17. Please be at the aquarium at least 10 minutes before departure time, and bring warm clothing - it gets chilly out on the water!

Booking in advance is recommended, and can be done by Paypal from this page, or by calling (506) 529-1200.
