St. Andrews Bird Banding Station

Station Protocol

Banded Bird
The St. Andrews Banding Station follows a standardized protocol which requires nets to be opened and closed in the same order, to be opened at sunrise and to be open for at least five hours each banding day.
Data collected from each bird includes :

species, age, how aged, sex, how sexed, wing (mm), weight (gm), fat score, body and wing moult, primary feather wear, date captured (or recaptured), time, net area and #.
