Boutny of the Bay 2008

Bounty fo the Bay trip, Huntsman research vessel

TROLLING THE BAY
Adventure participants will trawl the Bay in the HMSC research vessel, visit Indian Point for an inter-tidal walk, and examine their finds under microscopes in the Plankton Lab. The learning continues with a tour of the on-site aquarium, sessions on bird banding, aquaculture, invertebrates, and information on ongoing HMSC research.

LOOKING FOR WHALES
One highlight of the adventure is a whale and wildlife expedition of the Bay of Fundy hosted by Quoddy Link Marine with onboard educational interpretation by a marine biologist. Scan the horizon for whales, eagles, porpoise and seals from the comfort of a covered observation deck on the Quoddy Link's safe and stable catamaran. ( www.townsearch.com/quoddylink )

OUR FRAGILE PLANET
There will be presentations on local environmental issues.

ONCE UPON A TIME...
St. Andrews' colourful history makes for very interesting stories. Local historian Jeannie Stinson will entertain and enlighten us with her animated journey back in time.

LODGING AND VICTUALS
Participants will enjoy the charm and comfort of the Rossmount Inn, an historic country inn set on 87 acres just minutes from the HMSC and the town of St. Andrews. Featuring "the freshest ingredients land and sea have to offer" and organic produce, dining at the Rossmount is without comparison. We will linger over sumptuous meals in their elegant dining room three of the four evenings. Their chef will also prepare wonderful full breakfasts for us each morning and lunch the day we arrive. Nature trails on site.
