Education

Student Accommodations at Huntsman Marine Science CentreThe Huntsman has been offering unique, hands-on field courses for students of all ages since 1987. Over 30,000 students have created life-long memories and friends through their experiences with us.

You may book a class/group trip, or sign up as an individual for a summer course.

A balanced schedule is set up for each program according to grade, ability and intensity of interest. The aim is to spend half the day in the field observing and collecting samples of the local marine fauna and flora, and the other half in the lab or on tours learning more about our finds.

We are open year-round (though not popular in January!). Most courses are all-inclusive with participants staying on campus in our residences.

Huntsman and University of Fredericton course
In April, a new online course is being launched. The Leadership for Marine Sustainability Online Certificate Program is a collaboration between the Huntsman and the University of Fredericton. You can find out more about this exciting new program, and download a brochure, by visiting the University of Fredericton course website.

Educational resources
If you really can’t visit us, or you’re looking for information that will help in the classroom, we also have educational resources for you. Check out our field guide to the intertidal zone, an introduction to the classification system, information on the Bay of Fundy’s tides, and some links to other useful websites.

For information on our programs, contact Tracey Dean at (506) 529-1220.
