Helpful Hints for Travel to St. Andrews

By car travelling west to east

St. Andrews is sign-posted directly from the Trans-Canada highway (Route 1). You will end up on Route 127, which brings you into St Andrews (approximately 10 minutes).

After you pass the town limit sign (50 km/h speed limit), watch for the HMSC Aquarium sign on the right, near the golf course.

Turn right at the sign (this is the first road on the right after the town limits sign). This right turn puts you onto Cedar Lane (Campus Map). Go to the end (T-junction) and turn right again. The Algonquin golf course is on both sides as you go down a short hill and up the other side. Immediately after the entrance to the Golf Club House (which is on your left), you will see the HMSC residences sign (Anderson Campus) on your right. Go up the driveway and Anderson House is the first large building on the right.

To go to the Aquarium or the main office, ignore the residences sign, and follow the paved road to the intersection at the bottom of the hill. From here you take a right hairpin turn down the hill which is where you will find HMSC's Aquarium and Main Office.

To go to the Atlantic Reference Centre (ARC), take a left at the intersection. Then you would follow the paved road down a small hill, past the Conference Centre. The ARC is the wooden shingled building to your left (see Campus Map).

By car travelling from east to west

Take the exit to Saint John (Route 1); go through Saint John and over the Saint John Harbour Bridge and towards St. Stephen on Route 1. St. Andrews is well sign-posted (about 14 km after St. George) with a left turn onto Route 127.

Stay on Route 127 all the way into St. Andrews. After passing the town limits sign (50 km/h speed limit), proceed to an intersection with Tim Horton's on the corner on the right.

Turn right (hairpin turn) so that the golf course in on your left. After about 250 m, you will see the Huntsman Aquarium sign. Turn left at the sign onto Cedar Lane (Campus Map).

PLEASE NOTE: If you are picking up keys, they are generally left in Anderson House – see the Campus Map for details. The administration office is also marked on the map.
