Twice a day the tide at the mouth of the Bay rise and fall eight meters stirring up nutrients that have drifted to the ocean floor.  Join us as we explore this unique environment and the diversity of life it supports. What we catch and collect at low tide is what we will observe more closely in the lab when the tide in high.

Learn about:

  • biodiversity of local ecosystems
  • weird and wonderful invertebrate inhabitants of the area
  • plankton drifters that start most marine food chains
  • invaders new and old
  • St. Andrews‐by‐the‐sea maritime connections past and present
