I am pleased to announce that, The Huntsman Marine Science Centre has completed the search for our next Executive Director. This is a very important decision for the Huntsman and our community. We are pleased that Dr. Jamey A. Smith has accepted the appointment as Executive Director effective March 1, 2013. Jamey brings over 30 years experience with local, regional and international science, business, academic, non-profit, non-governmental organizations and government work related to socioeconomic, environmental and natural resource development. He has broad experience with volunteer and non-volunteer boards and extensive knowledge of governance, financial and administrative processes. As a Lieutenant Governor’s Medal award recipient, Jamey received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology from the University of New Brunswick and a Ph.D Aquaculture- Environment Management at the institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, Scotland. Jamey is currently a Founding Member of the Crabbe Mountain Freestyle Ski Club and has served on various boards including the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, Fredericton YMCA and the Fredericton Amateur Speed Skating club.
